Glen Kennedy Surf Shop
22755 Ventura Blvd.
Woodland Hills, CA 91364

Customer Service: Friendly service, lots of used short & long boards, fair prices that go down over time. Reliable nose repair / ding repair.

Horizons West Surf Shop
2011 Main Street
Santa Monica, CA 90405
Customer Service: I often find myself being ignored in this shop, however, you can find some decent priced, good-condition, used boards here.

I usually talk to Randy (the owner/he's the one with the tattoos. Nice guy.) In "Los Angeles" magazine, it was listed as "The" surf shop.

Infinity Surf Shop
24382 Del Prado
Dana Point, California 92629
Phone: 949.661.6699
Fax: 949.661.6409

Customer Service: Excellent, lots of personal
attention and instruction. Reasonable priced custom boards, quick turn around. They'll even let you test out a demo board before you buy. These guys specialize in big, thick old school boards, tandems, and surf kayaks.

Huntington Surf and Sport

Never go here. Never leave your board here for ding repair or you will never see it again.

Val Surf
4810 Whitsett Ave
Valley Village, CA 91607

Customer Service: Lots of new longboards in stock. I went there looking for a longboard and received a very thorough lesson about board design from an employee. Very helpful. The teenie boppers behind the counter can be a bit annoying.

ZJ Boarding House
2619 Main St
Santa Monica, CA 90405

The salespeople are pretty knowledgeable and nice. The selection on surf apparel is decent. Surfboards are overpriced though. They do have big sales a few times a year.
