Name- Matt (Matty)

Stance- Regular

Board- 9’0 Harbour Wing-Pin

What got you started surfing- Moving to California. The beaches are nice in Miami where I’m from, but you can’t surf the jet-stream.

What keeps you surfing- A good SW swell.

Most memorable surf- The first day that planes started flying again out of Honolulu following 9/11. It was a perfect day at Waikiki, 3-4, glassy faces and 80 degrees; those planes were like a symbol of freedom in the sky.

Dream surf trip, whether you've already taken it, or dream of going- Southern Coast of Australia – working on finding the funds right now. Any cash donations would be appreciated, mate.

Favorite break- Sunset and PCH!

How has surfing changed you- I don’t wake up in strange places in puddles of my own vomit any more.

What do you do when there are no waves- Jones.

What are you trying to do or learn to raise your level of surfing- Find a job that doesn’t actually require me to work or show up so that I can spend more time in the water.

Surfing pet peeve- Assholes on kayaks. Frat-boys who don’t get it. Trash and broken glass on the rocks at Sunset.

Ideal surf conditions- See above.
