Name- Ken

Stance- Regular

Board- 9'6 Soul Performance (shaped by Mark Brog)

What got you started surfing-During my internship in Hawaii I figured it was better than watching Jerry Springer

What keeps you surfing- Jerry Springer is still on the air

Most memorable surf- a solo session in Lake Michigan. a sun rise, glassy, chest high corduroy, and a realization of why we really surf.

Dream surf trip, whether you've already taken it, or dream of going- Maui (i love it ). Pakalas on Kauai, with some of my friends

Favorite break- Malibu for the wave, Sunset for the vibe, and Pops (Oahu) for old time's sake.

How has surfing changed you- Deeper appreciation of my place in the world. Plus an occasional washboard ab

What do you do when there are no waves- wait for surf, illustrate, shape longboard skateboards, work, write, then wait for surf some more.

What are you trying to do or learn to raise your level of surfing- watch Bruce Brown, Walt Philips films to learn how to become a stylist. Don't ask, but I like riding backwards (surf is supposed to be fun isn't it?)

Favorite surfers- Rell Sunn (captured the essence of surfing) If you don't know who she was, find out:)

Surfing pet peeve- Angry, hostile, can't speak, stink-eye, antagonistic surfers. Did I mention angry and hostile?

Ideal surf conditions- dawn patrol with shoulder high peelers 8 people out and 20 dolphins on the horizon

Anything to add- this website is truly a celebration of surfing. from grom, to kook, to studs and studdettes, finally a site for all. thanks alot Carolyn and see you in the lineup.
