Board- a green singlefin log
What got you started surfing- At ten I took a lesson at Waikiki. My
instructor pushed me into a wave. I stood up and felt a feeling I never felt
before. The feeling of surfing. I rode till the wave petered inside. From
that moment on I was a surfer.
What keeps you surfing- The same magic feeling. It's always there.
Most memorable surf- A few: First time. One tube ride in Mexico when I was
18. Mary's with Tupper 10 years ago on a huge & gentle day. Various
afternoons with friends.
Dream surf trip, whether you've already taken it, or dream of going- I like
driving up the California Coast. I'd like to be a surf gypsy for a whole
Favorite break- Any places I can paddle out and run into friends.
How has surfing changed you- I realize no matter how hard life gets, the
ocean is always there for us.
What do you do when there are no waves- If it's sunny and friends are
paddling out I still might go.
What are you trying to do or learn to raise your level of surfing- Smile
relax and let the wave lead.
Favorite surfers- My friends. But lately I've let waves pass so I could
watch a few people like, J.J Wessles, Chase Carlson and Maureen Drummy.
Surfing pet peeve- Selfishness in the water.
Ideal surf conditions- Any day with friends.
